The ‘Best Video Travel Review Site – UK’ in their Best of British Getaway Awards 2023.

When one starts out in business, especially one which is trying to break the mould of the established players, one recognises it will be long uphill battle until people see and understand the benefits to them.

And so it is with overseasinfo.tv

We set out to give control back to the tourism industry, and eliminate the huge commissions being paid to the established OTA’s (Online Travel Agents) like Booking, Expedia & Tripadvisor, by encouraging and making it easy for guests to book direct.

We also set out to ensure visitor reviews were seen as being honest and not written by ‘friends’ of a business nor were they used to try and destroy a business by a competitor. To do this we actively encourage video reviews from guests, which are much more likely to show the truth. They also bring to life a hotel or experience showing guests enjoying their time, or not, and with videos, the reality is there for all to see.

All of the above is no easy task and we were surprised when we were approached by an Awards company for the work we are doing. And even more surprised when we were informed yesterday, we had won.

The award is from SME News and overseasinfo.tv is considered the ‘Best Video Travel Review Site – UK’ in their Best of British Getaway Awards 2023.

Egotistically we wondered if we had seen off the competition from the likes of Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and TikTok but the reality is probably something very different!

Nevertheless, for us gaining recognition of any kind, by an independent outside body is a major boost and gives us the confidence to continue making inroads however slowly and step by step.
