Having lived in Surrey for over 20 years our day trips tended to be to Brighton.
My big regret is not visiting Eastbourne sooner.
The walk along the promenade stretches for miles, from the Marina in the east to the cliffs in the west.
Even on a seriously hot summer's day there is so much space on the beach.
The town is spotless and we'll definitely revisit another time
