The Shish Mahal has been serving curries since the mid-sixties by Ali Ahmed Aslam, known locally as Mr Ali, and the business is still run today by his grandson.
The restaurant is also reputedly the home of the chicken Tikka Masala.
That said the restaurant offers a wide selection of Indian flavoured cuisine and has taken on cult status among Glasgow eateries, attracting new and old customers from all over the world, who insist on a Glasgow curry from the famous Shish Mahal.
