What a beautiful country and ths must have been the best way to see it. We were picked up by Chris in a smart Mercedes people carrier and he kept us informed and entertained all day. The scenery was stunning and having someone to take us to all the right places really made our short break feel like a real holiday. This is the second tour with Chris and Typical Swiss Tours and it was absolutely fantastic. Chris took the time to understand exactly what we wanted (I like mountains and views!!) and then tailored the tour perfectly. His vehicle has a lovely luxurious and spacious feel and Chris's company is first class. Little touches are also always there and that additional attention to detail is spot on. Highlights included Isenfluh / Sudwald / Pilatus / Axalp / Giessbach Falls. I couldn't recommend Typical Swiss Tours highly enough and if you haven't seen the magnificent country that is Switzerland then you have missed out
Chris Wilson was by far the best tour guide we have ever had in all our travels worldwide. He gave a lot of attention before, during .and after our time with him. Several months prior to our trip Chris made it a point to know a little bit about everyone in our party. I could tell he was trying to make our tour extra special. He went beyond all of our expectations. He came up with several itinerary options to make the most of our day with him. Everything we had on our checklist of things to do was met. He even took the girls to a local grocery store to buy chocolate and cheese. When we returned to the states he checked in us to see that we returned home safely. I think of all the areas we toured on that trip ,Switzerland was our favorite and I know it was mainly because of Chris and his service. It is obvious he loves his country and he loves what he does. Chris not only became our tour guide, he became our friend. We all look forward to going back to Switzerland and have Chris show us more of his beautiful country.
Experiences of a Lifetime
My sister and I have been traveling to Europe each year for the past 10 years. We have had various guides and tours along the way. While we have had some truly wonderful tours, Chris' tours really stood out (in a good way). He took us to unique spots that ordinary tourists would not know about. The views and details that he shared with us were fantastic! Moreover, Chris was very pleasant to be around each day. We laughed, shared stories; he was very entertaining and accommodating. He went above and beyond as a tour guide. The sights and memories will stay with me for a lifetime. Unforgettable Experience!
Our tour with Chris of Typically Swiss Tours truly exceeded our expectations.
Given that this was our first visit to the country, we desired to get a taste of the beauty of Switzerland and learn as much as possible about the culture. Many weeks prior to the tour, Chris was in contact with us and worked diligently to plan a tour tailored specifically to our interests.
Chris has a strong desire to have already formed a relationship prior to meeting his clients for their tour and that was certainly the case with us. By the time we met, we felt that we were meeting up with a friend. Chris’ friendly, warm personality and wonderful sense of humor ensured that the conversation flowed easily. Throughout the tour he patiently answered all of our questions about Switzerland and its people, while showing us so many beautiful sights we would have never have found on our own. After driving throughout the rest of our vacation it was so nice to sit back and relax in the comfortable, clean van and let Chris handle the navigating.
At the end of the day, we all agreed that Chris provided our family an unforgettable experience.
My family and I booked Chris for a couple of full day trips and two other transfer days in late July and ending 1st August. Chris gave us a taste of Lucerne on our first day in Lucerne, from a vantage point in one of the mountain top hotels and whetted our appetite for more.
Chris was very good with the communications early on at the time of the booking and suggested some very good ideas for itineraries. He is very open to customising the tours as per the customer's requirements and also accommodated any specific places that we wanted to incorporate, (within a reasonable distance of the planned route).
We covered north east of Switzerland - Rapperswil, Maestrani chocolarium, Appenzell, and Leichtenstein. Especially, Chris met my request to visit the only wooden bridge on river Rhine splitting Switzerland and Leichtenstein at the border, where you can walk across/between Switzerland and Leichtenstein. Chris has a very good sense of humour and still keeps referring to this with my name attached to it! Second day also included a special addition of the 2nd steepest funicular Gelmerbahn which was en-route for our itinerary that day as part of a anti-clockwise tour of the high mountain passes and stops on the way. The weather was still not playing ball as it was cloudy at the top of the funicular journey. However, we had stopped at Geissbach falls enroute for a whistle stop tour of the falls and Aare Gorge since our Gelmerbahn ticket was a timed ticket as only a limited number of people go up and return each trip. On the second afternoon Chris took us to the Rhone glacier, which he himself was visiting for the first time. It was at the top of the Furka pass. My suggestion would be to plan your stops and get Chris's suggestions in advance to ensure that it meets your requirements, and keep options open and flexible in case you need a plan B, all of which enables you to have a good time.
Chris is very professional, courteous, on time and more importantly flexible to adapt to situations. This is the first trip in ages where we have lots of family group pics since Chris took them so wonderfully well - there is definitely a second or third profession in there somewhere for Chris. We had a great time overall and would strongly recommend Chris as your tour guide for your next Swiss trip, for whatever length of trip you need in Switzerland.
The perfect Holiday!
Our trip to Switzerland exceeded all our expectations. Besides it being a beautiful and amazing country, we also managed to book two whole days with the greatest tour guide ever. We were a family of 6 and visited various places like Lindt Chocolate Factory, Hoher Kasten Mountain, Appenzell and the cheese factory, Luzern and finally the Aeschbach Chocolatier. Chris, our tour guide, was a charming and passionate professional …always with a smile on his face and made sure our trip ran smoothly. From initial contact, all recommendations were spot on and communications were excellent, instant and very helpful. The excellent knowledge and his sense of humour, combined with the perfect selection of tour sites, made our trip very well organised and most of all very interesting. He delivered more than what was promised. Our itinerary was very well thought out … it showed all the dedication to his customers and the hard work he did so our trip goes off without a hitch. Combining leisure time with not-to-be-missed activities, one can see that his clients are obviously at the heart of the itinerary planning. Chris’s attention to detail was superb and he definitely kept our comfort and interests in mind. I would highly recommend this company to anyone wanting a perfect holiday.
