The Modern Face of Museum & Gallery Tours

Once again overseasinfo.tv is delighted to introduce you to an exciting new development in the world of AI (artificial intelligence) and AR (augmented reality), this time for museums and galleries.

Visitors can now be immersed in the experience with their own personal self-guided tours using videos and animations explaining how the exhibits they are interested in were used in the past and what for. Paintings and photos can be brought to life where they tell the story behind them.

And all this from a smart phone.

The technology to do this has been developed by Xsite an Israeli company - xsite.com, giving each visitor young or old a personalised virtual guide that adapts to the individual’s interests and profile.

Instead of outdated audio guides with limited flexibility the virtual guide will lead the user through the exhibits at their own pace and in their own language. And all with the aid of stunning videos and animations tailored for modern visitors who prefer visual content over audio.

As examples, two videos dedicated to the youngest visitors:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gmR446Zd7Gg

There’s no costly hardware for the museums and visitors are not required to download an app, instead using a modern web app that’s easy to use.

This latest use of technology reaches out to a whole new target audience. How many people, especially the younger generation look forward to a visit to a museum or gallery? But now they can experience a visit in a way which resonates with them.

Overseasinfo.tv wanting to remain at the forefront of cutting-edge technology and experiences will highlight museums and galleries which have integrated Xsite technology and who are advertising on our platform. This will appear as the Xsite logo on their page on our platform showing videos and photos as well as a link to their website, where visitors can book direct.

The former prison has many interesting and unique parts to it and is now the home of a 5* multi-award winning museum. When visiting walk through 125 years of turbulent history as you step back in time in the halls; kitchen; laundry; reception; shower block; court room; segragation block; and silent cell before heading to the former hospital block the location of one of the most fascinating stories within the complex.
